Products Overview

Our Low Creep Andalusite Brick series is a dense refractory product family manufactured from premium mullite and andalusite raw materials, subjected to high pressure molding and high temperature firing. The result is a brick with low impurity content, low porosity, low bulk density, high temperature strength, stable volume under high temperature conditions, good thermal shock resistance, and small creep variability.

The Low Creep Andalusite Brick product family is offered in four CHZ grades (CHZ150, CHZ145, CHZ140, and CHZ135) covering an Al2O3 content range of 55% to 70% and a refractoriness range of 1790 to 1810 °C. This range allows the lining designer to balance refractoriness, density, and thermal-shock resistance for the combustion chamber and dome zones of the hot air furnace of large and medium sized blast furnaces. CHZ150 and CHZ145 are the high-refractoriness workhorse grades for the upper combustion-chamber zones, while CHZ140 and CHZ135 are the cost-effective grades for the intermediate and cooler lining zones.

Sourced from our Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China facility, each Low Creep Andalusite Brick is engineered to ASTM, GB/T, and ISO refractory standards. Product Applications

Low Creep Andalusite Bricks are dense refractory bricks manufactured from premium mullite and andalusite raw materials, engineered for the hot air furnace of large and medium sized blast furnaces. The product family covers four CHZ grades (CHZ150, CHZ145, CHZ140, and CHZ135) covering an Al2O3 content range of 55% to 70% and a refractoriness range of 1790 to 1810 °C, allowing the metallurgist to match each lining zone to the optimal combination of refractoriness, density, thermal shock resistance, and cost.

Application Industry: Refractories for the Steel Industry and the broader Metallurgical Industry.

Target Equipment: Hot Air Furnace (Cowper stove) of large and medium sized Blast Furnaces.

Specific Lining Zones: CHZ150 and CHZ145 are the high-refractoriness workhorse grades for the combustion chamber and upper zones of the hot air furnace. CHZ140 is the intermediate grade for the dome and sidewalls. CHZ135 is the cost-effective grade for the lower checkerwork and cooler lining zones of the hot air furnace lining.

CH Refractories is a Low Creep Andalusite Brick manufacturer in China, Henan, Zhengzhou. Product FAQ

A1: Low Creep Andalusite Brick is manufactured from premium mullite and andalusite as the main raw materials, subjected to high pressure molding and high temperature firing. The combination produces a brick with low impurity content, low porosity, low bulk density, high temperature strength, stable volume under high temperature conditions, good thermal shock resistance, and small creep variability, making it suitable for the hot air furnace of large and medium sized blast furnaces.

A2: A Low Creep Andalusite Brick uses premium mullite and andalusite as raw materials and is supplied in the 55% to 70% Al2O3 range (CHZ135 to CHZ150). Compared with a Low Creep High Alumina Brick, which uses special grade aluminum bauxite clinker and is supplied in the 48% to 85% Al2O3 range (DRL48 to DRL85), the Low Creep Andalusite Brick has higher refractoriness (1790 to 1810 °C vs 1750 to 1790 °C) and is engineered for the hot air furnace of large and medium sized blast furnaces, while the Low Creep High Alumina Brick is engineered for the hot blast stove of small and medium sized blast furnaces.

A3: The Low Creep Andalusite Brick is mainly installed in the combustion chamber, dome, sidewalls, and checkerwork of the hot air furnace (Cowper stove) of large and medium sized blast furnaces. CHZ150 and CHZ145 are recommended for the upper combustion-chamber zones where refractoriness is most demanded. CHZ140 is the intermediate grade for the dome and sidewalls. CHZ135 is the cost-effective grade for the lower checkerwork and cooler lining zones.

A4: Yes. The standard size is 230 x 114 x 65 mm, but CH Refractories is a turnkey refractory engineering partner: we can manufacture any brick geometry (wedge bricks, key bricks, sidewall blocks, throat bricks, checkerwork bricks) to match the buyer's refractory drawing. Please send the drawing to our engineering team in Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China for a free consultation, free 3D design, and a tailored quotation.
