The product family is manufactured from high-quality bauxite, fused corundum, and SiC as the main raw materials, bonded by sol. The product family features good installation properties, excellent slag erosion resistance, and thermal shock resistance, with stable quality and good performance for iron ladle lining service.

The Al2O3-SiC Castables for Iron Ladle product family is offered in three engineering-proven ASCL chemistry grades. The CH-TBJ-L60 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 55% and SiC+C content minimum 8% for common iron ladle service. The CH-ASCL16 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 60% and SiC+C content minimum 8% for desulfurized hot iron ladle service. The CH-ASCL18A grade features Al2O3 content minimum 70% and SiC+C content minimum 8% for demanding desulfurized hot iron ladle service. All three grades deliver Bulk Density minimum 2.40 to 2.65 g/cm³, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 20 to 30 MPa after 110 °C curing for 24 hours, minimum 30 to 40 MPa after 1000 °C firing for 3 hours, and minimum 40 to 50 MPa after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours, with Permanent Linear Change ±0.5 percent after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours.

Permanent Linear Change is ±0.5 percent after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours. Bulk Density reaches minimum 2.40 to 2.65 g/cm³ depending on grade.
