It is mainly used for working linings and thermal insulation of various high-temperature kilns in the ceramics, electric porcelain, grinding wheels, refractory, and other industries lining.

The Alumina hollow sphere products family is offered in three engineering-proven KXQ chemistry grades. The CH-KXQ88 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 88% for general high-temperature kiln working lining service, with Fe2O3 content maximum 0.3 percent, Bulk Density 1.30-1.45 g/cm3, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 10 MPa, Load Softening Temperature minimum 1650 °C at 0.2 MPa, Reheating Line Change maximum plus or minus 0.3 percent after 1600 °C drying for 3 hours, Thermal Expansion Coefficient approximately 8.0 times 10 to the negative 6 per °C at 1300 °C, Thermal Conductivity maximum 0.9 W/m.k at 800 °C, and Maximum Service Temperature 1650 °C. The CH-KXQ98 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 99% for higher-demand high-temperature kiln working lining service, with Fe2O3 content maximum 0.15 percent, SiO2 content maximum 0.2 percent, Bulk Density 1.40-1.65 g/cm3, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 9 MPa, Load Softening Temperature minimum 1700 °C at 0.2 MPa, Reheating Line Change maximum plus or minus 0.3 percent after 1600 °C drying for 3 hours, Thermal Expansion Coefficient approximately 8.6 times 10 to the negative 6 per °C at 1300 °C, Thermal Conductivity maximum 1.0 W/m.k at 800 °C, and Maximum Service Temperature 1800 °C. The CH-KXQ98 Sialon grade features ZrO2 content minimum 9.8% for highest-demand high-temperature kiln working lining service, with Fe2O3 content maximum 0.2 percent, SiO2 content maximum 0.2 percent, Bulk Density maximum 3.0 g/cm3, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 8 MPa, Load Softening Temperature minimum 1700 °C at 0.2 MPa, Reheating Line Change maximum plus or minus 0.2 percent after 1600 °C drying for 3 hours, Thermal Conductivity maximum 0.5 W/m.k at 800 °C, Maximum Service Temperature 2000-2200 °C, and Thermal Shock Resistance minimum 15 cycles at 1100 °C water cooling.
