Products Overview
Our Common Silica Brick is a dense acid refractory product consisting mainly of tridymite, cristobalite, and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases. The Common Silica Brick product family is engineered for industrial furnace, coke oven, and Hot Blast Stove combustion chamber lining service, with silica content range of 93 to 95 percent for high temperature stability.
The Common Silica Brick product family is offered in three chemistry grades (CH-GZ95, CH-GZ94, and GZ-93) covering a silica content range of 93% to 95% and a refractoriness range of 1690 to 1710%. CH-GZ95 is the highest-silica workhorse grade with cold crushing strength of 29.4 MPa or higher. CH-GZ94 is the mid-silica grade for less demanding lining service. GZ-93 is the cost-effective grade for cooler zone lining.
Sourced from our Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China facility, each Common Silica Brick grade is engineered to ASTM, GB/T, and ISO refractory standards. Note: Three chemistry grades CH-GZ95, CH-GZ94, and GZ-93 are Common Silica Brick products. The Thermal Shock Stability is inherently low (water heat exchange 1 to 4 cycles), reflecting the inherent low thermal shock behavior of silica bricks and the need for gradual heating in service. Product Applications
Common Silica Brick is a dense acid refractory product manufactured from tridymite, cristobalite, and residual quartz and glass phases, engineered for industrial furnace, coke oven, and Hot Blast Stove combustion chamber lining service. The product family delivers SiO2 content of 93 to 95 percent, with acid slag corrosion resistance and high temperature strength.
Application Industry: Refractories for Industrial Furnace, Coke Oven, Hot Blast Stove, and broader Metallurgical Industry.
Target Equipment: Industrial Furnace Combustion Chamber, Coke Oven Sole Flue and Combustion Chamber, and Hot Blast Stove Combustion Chamber.
Specific Application Zones: The CH-GZ95 grade is the highest-silica workhorse for industrial furnace and coke oven combustion chamber positions requiring high refractoriness and load softening start temperature. The CH-GZ94 grade targets the intermediate temperature zones with acid slag corrosion resistance. The GZ-93 grade is the cost-effective option for cooler lining zones with lower apparent porosity requirement. All three grades deliver the same natural silica raw material with appropriate mineralizer addition ensuring quartz-to-scaly quartz conversion during slow calcination at 1350 to 1430 °C under reducing atmosphere.
CH Refractories is a Common Silica Brick manufacturer in China, Henan, Zhengzhou. Product FAQ
A1: Common Silica Brick is a dense acid refractory product consisting mainly of tridymite, cristobalite, and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases, with silica content of 93 percent or higher. The product delivers acid slag corrosion resistance and higher high temperature strength under load softening start temperature of 1620 to 1670 °C. The product is widely applied for industrial furnace, coke oven, and Hot Blast Stove combustion chamber lining service in the steel and broader metallurgical industry.
A2: CH Refractories offers three chemistry grades of Common Silica Brick. The CH-GZ95 grade has silica content of 95 percent or higher with refractoriness of 1710 °C and cold crushing strength of 29.4 MPa or higher, designed for the most demanding industrial furnace applications. The CH-GZ94 grade has silica content of 94 percent or higher with refractoriness of 1710 °C and cold crushing strength of 24.5 MPa or higher, for intermediate temperature zones. The GZ-93 grade has silica content of 93 percent or higher with refractoriness of 1690 °C and cold crushing strength of 19.6 MPa or higher, for cost-effective cooler zone lining.
A3: Common Silica Brick has inherently low thermal shock stability (water heat exchange for 1 to 4 cycles), reflecting the inherent low thermal shock behavior of silica bricks. During slow calcination at 1350 to 1430 °C under reducing atmosphere, the quartz converts to scaly quartz with appropriate mineralizer addition. When heated to 1450 °C, the brick reaches about 1.5 to 2.2 percent of total volume expansion, making the masonry joints tight and ensuring good air tightness and structural strength of the lining.
A4: Yes. CH Refractories offers custom sizes and shapes for silica brick against the buyer's specific industrial furnace, coke oven, and Hot Blast Stove designs. Please send the furnace design drawing, operating temperature data, and slag chemistry to our engineering team in Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China for a free consultation, on-site technical support, and a tailored silica brick formulation proposal.
