Products Overview

Our Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves is a dense acid refractory product consisting mainly of tridymite, cristobalite, and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases. The Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves product family is engineered for hot blast stove combustion chamber, vault, and checker regenerator service, with silica content of 95 percent or higher for high temperature stability.

The Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves product family is offered in two application-specific geometry grades covering Vault brick and Checker brick for the hot blast stove lining design. Both grades deliver a true density of 2.35 g/cm³ or higher, with load softening start temperature of 1620 to 1670 °C and long-term high temperature use without deformation. The thermal shock stability is low (water heat exchange for 1 to 4 cycles), reflecting the inherent low thermal shock behavior of silica bricks.

Sourced from our Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China facility, each Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves grade is engineered to ASTM, GB/T, and ISO refractory standards. Product Specification

Standard silica brick geometry is engineered per buyer’s Hot Blast Stove design. Custom sizes and shapes available on request.

Items Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves
Vault Brick Checker Brick
SiO2 content ≥ (%) 95 95
Apparent Porosity ≤ (%) 22 23
Cold Crushing Strength ≥ (MPa) 35 30
Bulk Density ≥ (g/cm³) 2.35
High Temperature Creep Rate (0.2 MPa, 1550 °C, 50h) ≤ (%) 0.8
Thermal Linear Expansion (1500 °C) ≤ (%) 1.26

Note: Two application-specific geometry grades for Hot Blast Stove lining design. Both grades maintain SiO2 content of 95 percent or higher and bulk density of 2.35 g/cm³ or higher. The Vault brick is optimized for the combustion chamber dome and the Checker brick for the regenerator. The Thermal Shock Stability is inherently low (water heat exchange 1 to 4 cycles), reflecting the inherent low thermal shock behavior of silica bricks and the need for gradual heating in service. Product Applications

Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves is a dense acid refractory product manufactured from tridymite, cristobalite, and residual quartz and glass phases, engineered for hot blast stove combustion chamber, vault, and checker regenerator service. The product family delivers SiO2 content of 95 percent or higher, true density of 2.35 g/cm³, with acid slag corrosion resistance and load softening start temperature of 1620 to 1670 °C.

Application Industry: Refractories for the Steel Industry and the broader Metallurgical Industry.

Target Equipment: Hot Blast Stove Combustion Chamber, Vault, and Checker Regenerator of large and medium-size Blast Furnaces.

Specific Application Zones: The Vault brick grade is engineered for the Hot Blast Stove dome and combustion chamber vault positions where the highest mechanical strength is required. The Checker brick grade is engineered for the Hot Blast Stove regenerator checker chamber positions where low creep rate and thermal linear expansion behavior ensure structural integrity under heating-cooling cycles. Both grades deliver residual volume expansion of 1.5 to 2.2 percent at 1450 °C under reducing atmosphere, making the masonry joints tight and ensuring good air tightness and structural strength of the masonry.

CH Refractories is a Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves manufacturer in China, Henan, Zhengzhou. The complete Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves product family is manufactured in our Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China facility to ASTM, GB/T, and ISO refractory standards. Product FAQ

A1: Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves is a dense acid refractory product consisting mainly of tridymite, cristobalite, and a small amount of residual quartz and glass phases, with silica content of 94 percent or higher. The product delivers acid slag corrosion resistance, higher high temperature strength, and load softening start temperature of 1620 to 1670 °C. The product is especially suitable for hot blast stove combustion chamber, vault, and checker regenerator service in the steel industry.

A2: CH Refractories offers two application-specific geometry grades of Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves. The Vault brick grade is engineered for Hot Blast Stove vault and combustion chamber positions with cold crushing strength of 35 MPa or higher. The Checker brick grade targets the Hot Blast Stove checker regenerator with low creep rate under 0.8 percent at 0.2 MPa, 1550 °C, 50 hours and thermal linear expansion under 1.26 percent at 1500 °C. Both grades maintain silica content of 95 percent or higher and bulk density of 2.35 g/cm³ or higher.

A3: Silica Brick for Hot Blast Stoves is slowly calcined at 1350 to 1430 °C under a reducing atmosphere. When heated to 1450 °C, there is about 1.5 to 2.2 percent of total volume expansion. This residual expansion will make the joints tight and ensure good air tightness and structural strength of the masonry in hot blast stove service, preventing leakage of hot air and improving thermal efficiency.

A4: Yes. CH Refractories offers custom sizes and shapes for silica brick, customized vault brick, and customized checker brick against the buyer's specific Hot Blast Stove design. Please send the Hot Blast Stove design drawing, checker chamber dimensions, and operating temperature data to our engineering team in Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China for a free consultation, on-site technical support, and a tailored silica brick formulation proposal.
