Low Carbon MgO-C Brick for Steel Industry
Application Industry: Refractories for Steel Industry
Application Equipment: Ladle Working Layer and Slag Line Lining
Size: Standard brick geometry per ladle working lining design (custom sizes available on request)
Products Overview
Our Low Carbon MgO-C Brick is a magnesia-carbon refractory brick engineered for ladle working layer and slag line lining service. The product family is manufactured from high-quality magnesite and flake graphite as main raw materials, by pressing and low temperature pre-baking. The product family is mainly used in slag zone of ladle lined with low carbon or carbon-free refractories for low and ultra-low steel production, featuring high strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent thermal shock resistance.
The Low Carbon MgO-C Brick product family is offered in five engineering-proven MT chemistry grades. The CH-MT5A grade features magnesia content minimum 85% and carbon content maximum 5% for ladle working layer service. The CH-MT5B grade features magnesia content minimum 84% and carbon content maximum 5% for ladle working layer service. The CH-MT5C grade features magnesia content minimum 82% and carbon content maximum 5% for ladle working layer service. The CH-MT3A grade features magnesia content minimum 86% and carbon content maximum 3% for low-carbon variant. The CH-MT3B grade features magnesia content minimum 85% and carbon content maximum 3% for low-carbon variant. All five grades deliver excellent performance for ladle slag line and sidewall working layer service.
Sourced from our Xinmi City, Zhengzhou, Henan, China facility, each Low Carbon MgO-C Brick grade is engineered to ASTM, GB/T, and ISO refractory standards. Application Industry: Refractories for the Steel Industry and the broader Metallurgical Industry.
Target Equipment: Ladle Slag Line and Sidewall Working Layer of small, medium-size, and large ladles in steelmaking operations.
Specific Application Zones: The CH-MT5A grade (magnesia content minimum 85%, carbon content maximum 5%) and CH-MT5B grade (magnesia content minimum 84%, carbon content maximum 5%) are the standard high-magnesia workhorses for ladle slag line and sidewall working layer. The CH-MT5C grade (magnesia content minimum 82%, carbon content maximum 5%) is the mid-magnesia variant for general ladle working layer. The CH-MT3A grade (magnesia content minimum 86%, carbon content maximum 3%) and CH-MT3B grade (magnesia content minimum 85%, carbon content maximum 3%) are the low-carbon variants specifically engineered for low and ultra-low carbon steel production. All five grades deliver apparent porosity maximum 5% to 9%, bulk density minimum 2.96 to 3.03 g/cm³, and cold crushing strength minimum 35 to 40 MPa.
