The Castable for DRI rotary hearth furnace product family is offered in three engineering-proven HZ chemistry grades. The CH-HZ45 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 45% and Fe2O3 content maximum 1.2% for general DRI rotary hearth furnace service, with Bulk Density minimum 2.4 g/cm3 after 110 °C drying for 24 hours, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 30 MPa after 110 °C drying for 24 hours and minimum 40 MPa after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours, Permanent Linear Change maximum 1.0 percent after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours, CO Erosion Resistance Intact after 500 °C drying for 24 hours, Thermal Conductivity maximum 1.00 W/m.k at 800 °C hot side, Maximum Service Temperature 1350 °C, and Application for Roof, wall and partition at preheat area. The CH-HZ60 grade features Al2O3 content minimum 60% and Fe2O3 content maximum 1.2% for higher-demand DRI rotary hearth furnace service, with Bulk Density minimum 2.45 g/cm3, Cold Crushing Strength minimum 30 MPa after 110 °C drying for 24 hours and minimum 45 MPa after 1000 °C firing for 3 hours, Permanent Linear Change maximum 1.0 percent after 1400 °C firing for 3 hours, CO Erosion Resistance Intact after 500 °C drying for 24 hours, Thermal Conductivity maximum 1.1 W/m.k at 800 °C hot side, Maximum Service Temperature 1400 °C, and Application for Roof, wall and partition at heating area.
