Our MgO / MgO-CaO / Forsterite Based Dry Masses is a high-performance refractory dry mass engineered for EAF bottom tap-hole and ladle permanent lining service. These products are made from high quality magnesite and Fe2O3-CaO magnesite, and show the features of excellent resistance against steel penetration, superior erosion resistance, easily-sintering, high bulk density, and easy installation. The products are easy to install and dismantle after use and perform well with extended service life, which are highly appreciated by steel mills.

The MgO / MgO-CaO / Forsterite Based Dry Masses product family is offered in five engineering-proven GM and TMG chemistry grades with two material systems. The MgO/Forsterite based system includes CH-GM70, CH-GM80, CH-GM85, and CH-GM88 grades. The CH-GM70 grade features MgO content maximum 70% for general ladle permanent lining service. The CH-GM80 grade features MgO content minimum 70% for higher-magnesia ladle permanent lining. The CH-GM85 grade features MgO content minimum 80% for high-magnesia ladle permanent lining. The CH-GM88 grade features MgO content minimum 88% for highest-magnesia ladle permanent lining. The MgO-CaO based system includes CH-TMG15 grade, featuring MgO content minimum 70% and CaO content 10%-20% for EAF tap-hole and ladle permanent lining service with high CaO-MgO performance. All five grades deliver Bulk Density 1.8-2.4 g/cm³ after 220 °C curing for 24 hours, Permanent Linear Change −2.5 to 0 percent for MgO/Forsterite grades and −3.0 to 0 percent for MgO-CaO grade after 1500 °C firing for 3 hours, and Cold Crushing Strength minimum 2 to 7 MPa after 220 °C curing for 3 hours and minimum 3 to 5 MPa after 1500 °C firing for 3 hours.

Specific Application Zones: The CH-GM70 grade (MgO/Forsterite based, MgO content maximum 70%) is the standard variant for general ladle permanent lining service. The CH-GM80 grade (MgO content minimum 70%) is the higher-magnesia variant for ladle permanent lining. The CH-GM85 grade (MgO content minimum 80%) is the high-magnesia variant for demanding ladle permanent lining. The CH-GM88 grade (MgO content minimum 88%) is the highest-magnesia variant for ladle permanent lining. The product family achieves Bulk Density 1.8 to 2.4 g/cm³ after 220 °C curing for 24 hours, Permanent Linear Change −3.0 to 0 percent after 1500 °C firing for 3 hours depending on grade, and Cold Crushing Strength minimum 2 to 7 MPa after 220 °C curing for 3 hours and minimum 3 to 5 MPa after 1500 °C firing for 3 hours depending on grade.
